This motor controller is sized to supply 30A continuously in 12 or 24V. The clutch output can supply 4A (max).
30A is the motor current to be considered at maximum torque allowing the rudder to move freely. This is not the current with the motor locked because this controller allows the current to be electronically limited when the rudder is locked.
To reduce the clutch coil power consumption by a ratio of about 6, pypilot energizes the coil at full power for about 250 ms, then the controller outputs pulse width modulated (PWM) pulses to keep the clutch engaged while reducing power consumption.
The enclosure is not included.
It comes with flashed processor, marinized PCB with tropicalizing acrylic varnish, tested functions, Wago 64A lever terminals for power input and motor, Wago 32A lever terminals for clutch and 1.5 mm² for UART to Pi and rudder feedback sensor.
